A social services director identifies individuals in a given community who may require assistance and implements programs and services to assist those people. As a social services director, you may work with a particular segment of people, such as children or hospital patients, or a community at large. Your other responsibilities include liaising between a group of people and the organizations that provide services, as well as working in a fundraising capacity when needed. In this social work field, you need excellent management, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Social services directors often work for nursing homes, community organizations, and social service providers.
