Position Summary:
Tommy Nobis Center is seeking a creative and motivated Communications Intern to support our communications, marketing, fundraising, and outreach initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, including social media, public relations, graphic design, and impactful storytelling. The ideal candidate is passionate about making a difference, eager to gain real-world experience in a mission-driven environment, and can effectively communicate our story in a meaningful and moving way.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, drafting, and scheduling content for social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Write client success features for website, newsletters and fundraising communications
  • Help create graphics, flyers, and promotional materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Conduct research to support marketing campaigns and outreach strategies
  • Track media and social engagement analytics and prepare reports
  • Help manage website updates and maintain media archive
  • Assist with internal communications and special event promotion
  • Support video and photography projects as needed
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions

Experience and Skills
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with social media platforms and content strategies
