Job Title: Infant Assistant Teacher
Location: Wonderspring - New Market West Center
Pay: $15.00 -18.04 per hour
About the Position
Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our Lead Teacher at our New Market West Center in the Infant Classroom.
About the Role
This role provides support to a Lead Teacher in an Infant Classroom. You will work together to create a nurturing, relationship-based classroom environment.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines.
  • Supervise children in your care
  • Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
  • Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule
  • Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior to reduce conflict by using provide guidance approaches such as FLIP IT and Second Step.
  • Observe, document, and celebrate each child's progress, sharing their victories (big and small) with proud parents.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience working with children, infants and toddlers preferred
  • Strong teamwork and flexibility
  • Ability to keep information private
  • Basic knowledge of childcare rules
  • Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
