At the South Branch Smokehouse, we don't just cook - we craft slow-smoked, soul satisfying meals that bring people together. If you have a passion for bold seasoning and meat that falls off the bone, we want you behind the line!
At the Smokehouse, cooks play a pivital role in delivering authentic Texas-style BBQ with a West Virginia twist. Our Cooks not only prepare and design decadent dishes for our guests, but also provide an exceptional and unforgettable experience!
Compensation: $12.50 per hour
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of BBQ dishes including brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and scratch-made sides following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Follow all health regulations and proper food handling procedures.
  • Receive, store, and rotate food and supplies.
  • Monitor ingredient levels and communicate with team to avoid shortages.
  • Work efficiently with kitchen staff to ensure timely and consistent food service.
  • Communicate effectively during peak hours to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
  • Ensure food is prepared to the restaurant's high standards for taste, presentation, and portioning.
  • Adapt to feedback and work to continually improve.

What We're Looking For:
  • Knife skills, kitchen hustle, and love for the flame!
  • Cooks that understand that low and slow wins the race, even in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in the kitchen setting is highly preferred, but attitude is everything.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques, including grilling, smoking, and sauteing.
  • Understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
