What are apple cider donuts?

Apple cider donuts are a type of cake donut flavored with apple cider and warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. They are especially popular in the fall and are often found at apple orchards, farmers markets, and bakeries. The cider gives the donuts a moist texture and a subtle apple flavor, which is complemented by a coating of cinnamon sugar. These donuts are typically fried, but they can also be baked at home. They have become a seasonal favorite in many parts of the United States.
