Job description

We are looking for a skilled BBQ Pit Master to join our team and take charge of our BBQ cooking operations. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in BBQ cooking and a deep passion for creating mouth-watering dishes that will leave our customers coming back for more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the BBQ pit and ensure that it is properly set up and maintained.
  • Prepare and cook BBQ meats and other dishes in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
  • Monitor cooking temperatures and make necessary adjustments to ensure that all meats are cooked to perfection.
  • Ensure that all food items are prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of supplies to ensure that we have all necessary items on hand at all times.
  • Train and supervise other kitchen staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 years of experience as a BBQ Pit Master or similar position.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in cooking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and cooked to Jamaica Pon Di Road quality standards.
  • Smoke all meats properly and consistently.
  • Check all customer cooking orders and have cooked in a timely fashion.
  • Have the line stocked with all food products by 10:40-10:50.
  • Receive all incoming merchandise, check quality and quantity, and store it in its proper place.
  • Communicate with head chef to keep line stocked.
  • Make sure all cooked and uncooked stock is rotated correctly using (FIFO).
  • Check and transfer all ordered items from Commissary to restaurant.
  • Keep kitchen area clean at all times.
  • Communicate with management any problem that might occur.
  • Preform any other work-related duties specified by management.
  • Present a professional appearance and proper language when addressing others.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Punctual and reliable attendance
  • 6 months to a year experience working as a BBQ Pit Master
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures
  • Able to work with heated equipment
  • Be able to work in a standing and moving position for long periods of time
  • Knife skills
  • Experience working a pit and building a fire
