Job description

Now hiring: Solar Canvassers / Appointment Setters โ€” Bridgeport, CT Smart Roofs Solar is expanding an efficient, measurable canvassing operation to generate qualified residential solar appointments for our closing team. This is a performance-first role with structured ramp support, weekly pay, clear standards, and a real bonus structure. Strong performers can build a pathway into long-term solar sales and leadership within the company. Position: Solar Canvasser / Appointment Setter Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut Why this role exists We are focused on creating predictable appointment flow for our closers. This is not a generic street-team position โ€” it is a tracked, accountable canvassing role where progress is measurable, coaching is regular, and upside is tied to verified production. You'll be supported by a market-specific offer and a dense local territory to make conversations practical and productive. Primary responsibilities Knock doors and engage homeowners to generate qualified residential solar appointments. Represent Smart Roofs Solar professionally in the field. Collect accurate homeowner information and record details in the CRM and routing system. Set confirmed, usable appointments for the closing team (not duplicates or junk leads). Operate within assigned territory, processes, and quality standards. Participate in a team environment focused on production, coaching, and accountability. Compensation & structure Ramp guarantee: $800 per week for the first 8 weeks. Qualified appointment bonus: $100 per verified qualified appointment. Weekly bonus: $150 for 5+ verified qualified appointments in a week. Monthly bonus: $1,000 for 20+ verified qualified appointments in a calendar month. Guaranteed pay is processed weekly through payroll. Appointment and weekly bonuses are paid after verification of the prior weekโ€™s activity. Monthly bonuses are paid after month-end reconciliation. Important: canvasser pay is tied to verified qualified appointments, not whether a closer later closes the sale. What we count as a qualified appointment Correct homeowner or decision-maker identified. Valid phone number and property address. Inside approved service area and entered properly into CRM. Not a duplicate and meets company qualification standards. Qualifying appointments are payable even if the homeowner later no-shows for reasons outside your control; junk or improperly documented leads do not qualify. Success looks like You consistently produce confirmed appointments, demonstrate urgency and professionalism, accept and act on coaching, and protect quality over raw volume. Performance targets include hitting roughly 33 qualified appointments by day 60 and supporting appointment flow that enables 5 closes per closer within a 60-day window. Who we want Energetic people comfortable talking face-to-face with homeowners, resilient under rejection, organized, and coachable. Prior canvassing, retail, door-to-door, setter, or sales experience is helpful but not required if you bring strong attitude and work ethic. Why this role is attractive Real guaranteed ramp pay, transparent weekly and monthly upside, and a pay model that rewards appointment production regardless of a closerโ€™s outcome. Youโ€™ll receive clear coaching, standards, and the opportunity to build a solar career in a structured operating environment. Application note Be prepared for a structured hiring process that may include a phone screen, live interview, role-play, and production standards review. Quick summary: $800/week for first 8 weeks + $100 per verified qualified appointment + $150 weekly bonus at 5+ appointments + $1,000 monthly bonus at 20+ appointments. Benefits include employee discount, flexible schedule, paid training, and on-the-road work location.
