Job description

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for small engines and outdoor power equipment? Join the trusted team at TriGreen Equipment, a leading provider of John Deere equipment and commercial-grade outdoor power products. We are currently seeking a Small Engine Technician to diagnose, service, and repair lawn mowers, compact tractors, utility vehicles, and other small engines at our Florence dealership.
This role is perfect for a mechanically inclined individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent TriGreen Equipment in a professional, honest, and respectful manner, including appearance and conduct.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on small engines, agricultural equipment, commercial worksite equipment, and outdoor power equipment.
  • Execute work as directed by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and safety in the workshop.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, diagnostics forms, and related paperwork.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and manufacturer certifications, including John Deere product training.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technologies and products sold and serviced by TriGreen.
  • Properly use and maintain shop tools, vehicles, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Ag Tech or Small Engine Repair program preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in mechanical repairs for small engines, lawn equipment, or agricultural machinery.
  • Proven knowledge of tools, parts, and service methods for mowers, UTVs, generators, chainsaws, and compact tractors.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with John Deere, Stihl, Honda Power Equipment, or similar brands is highly desirable.
  • Ability to use service software and standard desktop applications like Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Team player with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, squatting, and prolonged standing.
