Shop Technician Job Description

As a Shop Technician, you will perform inspections to determine what repairs are needed on equipment before it goes back on the road. Inspections and repairs will mainly be performed on trailers and on trucks when needed.

Shop Technician Responsibilities

  • Wheel ends (Brakes, wheel seals, slack adjusters, etc.)

  • Trade inspections

  • Reefer maintenance

  • Services

  • Body Work

  • Air Leaks

  • Several other types of small repairs

  • Complete paperwork for each service and submit it to the office

  • Work must be completed with quality, efficiency, and in a clean manner

  • When work is caught up there may be other work such as trailer repairs, decal removal or help with tires.

  • Must be able to adapt to changing tasks

  • During on-call hours, handle repairs over the road

  • Must have a positive attitude and maintain good relationships with all co-workers and drivers

  • You will need a small assortment of tools, battery impact, bit set, wenches and sockets.

Shop Technician Qualifications

  • Experience in performing the above-listed repairs and tasks is highly preferred, but not required

  • Positive attitude
