Job Summary:

Join a stable, locally owned company with nearly 80 years of history! Shade Equipment is seeking a skilled and reliable Small Engine Repair Technician. The ideal candidate must be mechanically inclined, excel at troubleshooting, and be effective at communicating repairs with our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot issues with a wide variety of lawn and garden equipment.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform standard engine service, including lubricating parts, replacing spark plugs, and sharpening/replacing blades.
  • Reassembly: Reassemble and reinstall components accurately following all repairs.
  • Upfitting & Off-Season Tasks: Install equipment into and onto trucks and vans during our off-season.
  • Team Communication: Discuss equipment issues, parts needed, and work performed clearly with staff.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Tools: Must possess personal tools and a secure, locking toolbox (mandatory requirement).
  • Certifications: Ability to pass a forklift operation test.
  • Licensing: Possess a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Transportation: Maintain a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Attendance: Ability to report to work on time, including during some inclement weather.
  • E-Verify: In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form (Form I-9) upon hire.
