What is a slipstream?

A Slipstream job typically refers to a role designed to fast-track skilled professionals into a company or industry. It often involves bypassing traditional hiring processes to quickly onboard talent with specialized expertise. These positions can be common in tech, aviation, and defense industries where urgency and experience matter. Slipstream roles may offer accelerated career progression and unique opportunities for growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the slipstream position?

To thrive as a Slipstream technician, you need expertise in fluid dynamics, mechanical systems, and hands-on troubleshooting, typically supported by a degree in engineering or relevant certifications. Experience using diagnostic tools, simulation software, and industry-standard testing equipment is important. Effective problem-solving, attention to detail, and strong teamwork are valuable soft skills for this position. These abilities ensure safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and improvement of slipstream systems in high-performance or industrial settings.

What are the main challenges faced by slipstream technicians in their day-to-day work?

Slipstream technicians often work in environments that require precise monitoring and adjustment of mechanical or aerodynamic systems under tight schedules. One common challenge is diagnosing issues quickly and accurately when equipment performance drops or when optimizing for maximum efficiency. Technicians may also need to collaborate closely with engineers, operators, and other specialists to meet system requirements or resolve technical problems. Adaptability and solid communication skills are essential, as priorities can shift rapidly depending on project or operational needs.

Quality Systems Consultant -- Veeva Quality Cloud

Slipstream IT

United, PA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

At Slipstream we work to streamline IT Support and provide managed solutions with a strategic consulting and global leadership management approach. Our solutions are designed exclusively for emerging pharma and biotech organizations.

Slipstream’s industry-leading solutions free clients from the demands of internal IT and allow them to rapidly advance their mission. Led by a leadership team that has been together for over 10 years, you will join a proven team, culture, and strategy to drive innovation within the IT outsourcing industry while developing your skillset with the opportunities for internal growth.

About the Role
The Quality Systems Consultant is Slipstream's primary point of contact for one or more Veeva Vault managed-services accounts (QualityDocs, Training, and/or QMS). You'll own the day-to-day relationship — schedule, budget, scope, and status reporting — while staying hands-on as a technical subject-matter expert. You'll coordinate the offshore Technical Configurators and provide support in the hours they are not available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Ownership
  • Act as the point of contact for all enhancements, efforts, and support tickets on assigned account(s).
  • Manage daily project activities, schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Provide a regular status report including: a summary of the project's status; schedule updates and progress toward deliverables/milestones; budget status; action items with owners and recommended resolutions; and project risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate activity among client stakeholders and facilitate change controls.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly prioritization for the team; manage communications, onboarding, training, and coordination between team members.

Technical / SME Execution

  • Perform Level 2/3/4 support and hands-on configuration in Veeva Vault (QualityDocs, Training and QMS) — including user account administration and maintenance, application/document/user security, and lifecycle and workflow issue resolution.
  • Respond to “how-to” questions; create and monitor reports and dashboards.
  • Make minor configuration changes to document types, fields, objects, lifecycles, and workflows.
  • Support release management — impact assessment, testing, and product release readiness.
  • Escalate product issues to Veeva (or the relevant vendor) support.

Team Coordination

  • Coordinate offshore Technical Configurators and other consultants staffed on the same account(s).
  • Onboard and align team members to account-specific processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience supporting or implementing Veeva Vault (QualityDocs, Training, or QMS) or a comparable eQMS (MasterControl, TrackWise, SmartSolve).
  • A track record of owning client-facing delivery — budgets, schedules, status reporting, and change control — not just technical execution.
  • Experience in life sciences or other GxP-regulated environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you'll be writing the status reports and fielding the client relationship.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Veeva Vault certification(s).
  • CSV/CSA validation experience.
  • Prior professional services / IT consulting background.
  • Experience coordinating distributed onshore/offshore delivery teams.
