CNC Machinist (Large Lathe) – 2nd Shift | TOP PAY

Savannah, GA | Direct Hire or Temp-to-Hire
Only 2 Openings – High-Level Role

BIG PAY FOR BIG MACHINES

  • $40–$41/hr during training (1st shift)
  • $44–$45/hr after training
  • +10% Shift Differential on 2nd shift

This is premium pay for machinists who can handle serious equipment and precision work.

Your Path to 2nd Shift

  • First 90 Days: 1st Shift Training (Mon–Fri | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • After Training: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM)
  • Fast-track option available if your experience proves it.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is true machinist work — complex, challenging, and rewarding:

  • Set up & operate large CNC lathes (110–220 ton machines)
  • Machine large, complex components to tight tolerances
  • Read and interpret advanced blueprints, GD&T, and specs
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategy
  • Dial in feeds & speeds for maximum efficiency + quality
  • Perform precision inspections throughout the process
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems independently
  • Work closely with Engineering & Quality teams to deliver first-time-right results

If you love big iron, tight tolerances, and running your own machine — this is your lane.

What You Bring

  • 5–7+ years CNC machining experience (heavy industrial preferred)
  • Strong experience with large CNC lathes
  • Proven ability to machine large parts with precision
  • Advanced blueprint reading & GD&T expertise
  • Experience with carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless & large forgings
  • Independent, reliable, problem-solving mindset
