POSITION SUMMARY
Multi-talented persons needed! Retail Sales Associate will be asked to perform two or more main duties within their assigned Steamboat Ski & Sport shops including but not limited to cashiering, stocking the sales floor and retail sales. Must have basic math skills. Applicants may be considered for any Retail shop location based on need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide exceptional guest service and address guest service needs and guide them regarding their options for purchases
  • Assess store needs, based on volume and guest concentration, move from station to station within a single shift, to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Merchandising and store preparedness, building and maintaining displays and store presentation
  • Inventory control, restocking products, and tracking theft (theft prevention) and product movement
  • Check email to ensure that they are up to date on Company and department and events and information
  • Additional responsibilities depending on specifics per shop, for example running errands, attending special meetings, store organization, cleaning, and trash removal, etc.
  • Safety and security awareness and protocol
  • Seeking education and product knowledge through literature that comes with product, on-line product sites and attending company sponsored clinics
  • Daily cash handling and reporting
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of previous work history/education required
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Prior experience with RTP preferred
  • Exceptional people and language skills; good communication skills needed
  • Must have basic mathematical skills - add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percent’s
  • Must maintain neatly, groomed appearance, abide by the uniform policy
  • Basic computer experience helpful
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Stand for long periods of time and move quickly and efficiently from one area to the next
  • Operate a cash register and sales computer system
  • Lift approximately 25-35 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing
  • Work independently and alone in the store
