Job description

About AKDO

AKDO is an industry leader with over 30 years of experience designing, importing, and distributing luxury natural stone, tile, and surface materials. Our distinctive collections serve the architecture and design community across residential, hospitality, and commercial projects.

About the Role

AKDO is seeking a highly organized, client-focused Showroom Sales Associate to join our New York City showroom.

This hands-on role combines showroom administration, client service, sales support, and day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with clients and design professionals while also managing the important administrative details that keep a busy showroom organized and running smoothly.

You will welcome and assist designers, architects, contractors, developers, fabricators, dealers, and other trade professionals while supporting product selections, sample requests, client follow-up, and showroom operations.

If you are highly organized, enjoy working with people, and have an interest in design and luxury products, we invite you to apply and join our New York showroom team.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day-to-day showroom administrative activities, including appointment scheduling, visitor logs, sample orders, shipping coordination, and general office support.
  • Maintain an organized, presentation-ready showroom and sample room, including sample inventory, stocking, replenishment, and incoming shipments.
  • Welcome and assist scheduled appointments and walk-in clients, providing an exceptional showroom experience.
  • Support clients with product selections, samples, and product information.
  • Follow up with clients and leads by phone and email and maintain client and sales activity using CRM tools.
  • Support showroom sales by developing client relationships and encouraging repeat and future business.
  • Assist with showroom events and other client-facing activities.
  • Partner with the Showroom Manager to support the overall day-to-day operation of the showroom.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of sales experience; luxury product experience preferred.
  • Interior design, architecture, or stone industry experience is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with client interaction and sales support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with CRM systems.

Position Requirements

This is a full-time, in-person position in our New York City showroom; remote work is not available. Candidates must be able to move throughout the showroom and sample room and lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted. Occasional work outside normal business hours or on weekends may be required.

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is $27.00–$38.00 with actual compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity.

AKDO offers full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, professional development opportunities, ongoing training, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

AKDO is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Drug-Free Workplace Employer. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities as required by law.

Applicants who require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the application or hiring process, or who are unable to complete the online application because of a disability, may contact AKDO Human Resources at hr@akdo.com or 203-345-1666 to request assistance or an alternative method of applying.
