Job description

Closet Factory | Westport, CT
Become the Face of Our New Westport Flagship
We're not opening another showroom.
We're creating one of Fairfield County's premier destinations for custom home organization and design.
Every homeowner who walks through our doors should leave inspired-not because they were sold to, but because they experienced something different.
That's why we're looking for two exceptional Showroom Directors to become the face of Closet Factory's newest flagship location in Westport.
This isn't a traditional retail management position.
It's an opportunity to shape the client experience, build meaningful relationships within the community, and represent a premium brand that believes exceptional design begins with exceptional hospitality.
The Opportunity
As Showroom Director, you'll be responsible for creating an environment where homeowners feel welcomed, inspired, and excited to begin their design journey.
You'll oversee the daily showroom experience, support our design team, cultivate relationships throughout the community, and ensure every detail reflects the quality and professionalism of the Closet Factory brand.
This role requires equal parts hospitality, design appreciation, relationship building, and business intuition.
The best Showroom Directors know when to engage in conversation-and when to simply welcome someone warmly and let them enjoy the space.
Our philosophy is simple:
People should buy because they want to, not because they were sold to.
Responsibilities
  • Welcome every visitor with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
  • Create a luxury showroom experience that feels inviting, relaxed, and memorable.
  • Learn about homeowners through genuine conversation and connect them with the appropriate designer.
  • Schedule complimentary in-home design consultations.
  • Maintain an impeccably organized and beautifully merchandised showroom.
  • Continuously refresh displays, samples, and seasonal inspiration.
  • Support our designers throughout the client journey.
  • Coordinate community events, networking opportunities, and showroom open houses.
  • Build relationships with Realtors, builders, architects, interior designers, professional organizers, and other local referral partners.
  • Continuously identify ways to elevate the showroom experience and strengthen the Closet Factory brand.
Who You Are
You genuinely enjoy people.
You're naturally outgoing, approachable, and charismatic.
You have impeccable taste, appreciate beautiful spaces, and notice details that others overlook.
You're polished without being pretentious.
Confident without being overbearing.
Organized without feeling rigid.
You understand that luxury isn't loud.
It's thoughtful.
It's personal.
It's about making people feel comfortable.
Whether you're welcoming a young family building their forever home, an interior designer selecting finishes, or a longtime Westport resident renovating a waterfront property, you're able to create authentic relationships built on trust.
Preferred Experience
While backgrounds may vary, successful candidates often come from:
  • Luxury retail
  • Interior design
  • Home furnishings
  • Hospitality
  • Residential real estate
  • High-end client service
  • Lifestyle or premium consumer brands

A passion for design, architecture, organization, or creating exceptional client experiences is highly valued.
Compensation
We believe exceptional talent deserves meaningful opportunity.
This position offers:
  • Competitive base compensation
  • Performance-based incentive opportunities
  • Paid time off
  • Health benefits for eligible full-time employees
  • Retirement benefits
  • Employee discounts
  • Long-term career growth within a growing organization

Performance incentives are designed to reward the overall success of the showroom and client experience-not high-pressure sales.
How Success Is Measured
Success is measured by the experience you create and the relationships you build.
Performance includes:
  • Qualified design consultations generated
  • Conversion of showroom visitors into scheduled appointments
  • Client satisfaction and overall showroom experience
  • Community engagement and local partnerships
  • Relationships developed with Realtors, builders, architects, and interior designers
  • Google reviews and client referrals
  • Showroom presentation, merchandising, and attention to detail
  • Collaboration with our design team
  • Overall contribution to the continued growth and reputation of the Westport showroom
Schedule
We're hiring two Showroom Directors who will work a rotating schedule to keep our flagship showroom open six to seven days per week.
Weekend availability is expected.
Who This Role Is for
This role isn't for everyone.
We're intentionally building something different.
We're not looking for someone who simply wants to manage a retail store.
We're looking for someone who wants to build something special.
Someone who takes pride in creating exceptional experiences.
Someone who represents our brand with confidence, warmth, professionalism, and authenticity.
Someone who enjoys becoming a trusted resource within the community and understands that lasting relationships-not transactions-are what build great businesses.
If people consistently describe you as someone who lights up a room, makes others feel welcome, remembers names, appreciates beautiful design, and genuinely enjoys helping people, we'd love to meet you.
About Closet Factory
For more than 40 years, Closet Factory has helped homeowners transform their homes through thoughtfully designed custom storage solutions.
Our Westport flagship represents the next chapter of that story.
We're building more than a showroom.
We're creating a place where exceptional design, outstanding craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality come together to deliver an experience unlike anything else in the industry.
If that sounds like something you'd be proud to help build, we'd love to hear from you.
