Job description

Trumbull Industries is looking for a retail Showroom Sales Associate / Design Consultant in their Akron, Ohio Location. Position will work full time including occasional Saturdayโ€™s 8- Noon, by appointment, and as assigned by branch manager. The main purpose of this position is to provide professional Inside Sales/Customer Service support to all customers to meet or exceed their expectations. This role includes ensuring order accuracy and developing strong and lasting relationships.

Responsibilities for Showroom Sales Associate /Design Consultant:

  • Working knowledge of 20/20 design program and the ability to grasp design concepts and creativity with the client to craft a final vision
  • Ability to working closely with wholesale trade and residential customers
  • Ability to work closely with other branch employees and departments, and along with other branches also having showrooms
  • Responsible for specifying and ordering display products in the showroom, and designs, ordering, inventory, literature
  • Responsible for keeping showroom displays up to-date
  • Educate customers on the selection process in order to create the kitchen and/or bath of their dreams
  • Coordinate with contractors /builders and client on pricing, selection, and delivery options.
  • Build lasting relationships with customers by attentively following up on inquires and purchases, and exceeding their expectations
  • Acquire and maintain sufficient product knowledge and strive to continually increase knowledge base, attend ongoing training as requested, or as markets change
  • Learn internal systems and processes to engage in transactional selling, keeping inventory correct and current, and maintaining proper showroom procedures
  • Lend support to senior design staff, as well as inside or outside sales staff for large projects/ jobs
  • Ability to meet targeted budgets and goals
  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Responsible for working toward all outdated materials being sold

Qualifications for Showroom Sales Associate / Design Consultant:

  • High school degree required
  • Prior retail sales/ customer service experience required
  • Experience in kitchen, bath, design, home furnishings, or related products preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Passion for home trends and/or design building /remodeling/updating
  • Strong organizational and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team Player working together with your Branch group and others in a spirit of cooperation and positivity
  • Necessary Ability to Multi-Task, supporting other areas as assigned, assisting in answer phones, and other tasks as assigned by branch manager
  • Ability to close on the sale
