Who will you be working with?
The Materials & Planning Specialist owns and expedites the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules.
How will you make a difference?
In this role you will plan and schedule material / production needs and will utilize your seasoned and deep understanding of concepts, approaches and methodology used as well as your deep expertise on the level of a technological field.
What do we want to know about you?
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in corporate strategy, planning, and strategic operations
  • A minimum of 2 additional years of experience in Materials Planning and Execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill and the ability to communicate effectively internally, upward, and cross functionally.
  • Can articulate strategies, ideas, and proposals clearly and concisely.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills, particularly modeling; strong bias towards data-based decision making.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Manage planning, material processes and systems, prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs.

  • Ensure operational alignment with production plan.

  • Optimize inventory and process improvements.

  • Solve issues and develop new solutions that require usage of methods and approaches with some precedence.

  • Present product / program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders across Wabtec.

  • Input and influence decisions within own discipline and area.

  • Communicate recommendations and solutions across direct organization and with cross-functional partner organizations.

  • Be involved in complex decision making sometimes with external parties.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
