Job description

Job Responsibilities for Shop Foreman:

  • Provide service to customers by overseeing the technicians accurately diagnosing and/or repairing light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, and equipment using special tools and equipment according to Technical Manual procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate technical support/information to service office & customers
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work duties
  • Communicate problems and resolutions to supervisor and customers, if requested
  • Oversee tagging of warranty parts and write warranty stories
  • Test drive repaired vehicles
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting, malfunctions on equipment, and repairs
  • Use diagnostic software to find and repair the issue
  • Distribute repair orders fairly and evenly
  • Manage shop workflow
  • Review and adjust repair estimates
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Required Skills for Shop Foreman:

  • 3+ years of experience in a diesel truck shop
  • 3+ years in a leadership role or service writer role
  • Customer service and leadership qualities
  • Driverโ€™s License required, CDL a plus
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer and basic applications
