Job description

Quanex is looking for a Shipping/Receiving Associate to join our team located in Zanesville, OH.
As a Shipping/Receiving Associate you are responsible to prepare shipments and receive incoming materials.

What's attractive about the Shipping/Receiving role?
  • 4-day work week! Mon - Fri 6am-4:30pm

What Success Looks Like:
  • Prepare and package BILCO products for LTL and full truckload (FTL) shipments using shipping documentation.
  • Stage outbound orders by carrier according to the daily shipping schedule to support on-time deliveries.
  • Safely load trailers to prevent product damage while maximizing trailer capacity and maintaining safe loading practices.
  • Accurately scan and transact products in the inventory system, ensuring every shipment matches the customer order.
  • Complete shipping paperwork accurately, obtain signed bills of lading from carriers, and submit all required documentation daily.
  • Process small package shipments through UPS and FedEx by entering shipment information and generating shipping labels and required documentation.
  • Receive incoming materials by verifying quantities and part numbers against purchase orders or Kanban cards, documenting receipts, and reporting discrepancies promptly.
  • Accurately receive materials into the inventory system and stock them in designated locations following established inventory processes.
  • Support a clean, organized, and efficient workplace by actively participating in 5S initiatives and continuous improvement activities, including documenting daily 5S tasks.
  • Effectively manage priorities throughout the day while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and productivity.

Your Credentials:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing facility.
  • 6+ months of experience in shipping/receiving department preferred.

The salary for this position is $21.00 per hour.
