Job Summary?
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist position works in the warehouse area for receiving, storing, and delivering of goods and supplies throughout the warehouse and production areas. The position is responsible for safely and efficiently driving unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading trucks. The position may also perform general laborer duties, including site clean-up, yard work and building maintenance, as necessary. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Altor Solutions' standards for safety and conduct.?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities?
Associates at this level are expected to have developed a trade of expertise and can work independently in the performance of the day-to-day responsibilities. The following list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. ?Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending upon the facility and/or department within the Company.?
  • Overseeing the proper loading, unloading, and handling of goods and materials.?
  • Ability to load trucks according to loading layouts ?
  • Ensure all loads are strapped in accordance with D.O.T. rules and regulations o Inspect containers as necessary?
  • Must be able to operate power industrial equipment?
  • Validating the received materials and goods with the invoices to ascertain the precision of the goods delivered.?
  • Ensuring the completion of all paperwork relating to the received goods and processing of the bills of lading, - understand paperwork get signed copies of bills of ladings and understand BOL's, pick sheets and other shipping paperwork?
  • Ensuring the proper handling and stocking of goods in compliance with warehousing and storage requirements.?
  • In charge of receiving supplies and materials into the Warehouse.?
  • May assist in monitoring the warehouse records and inventory and filing reports of discrepancies in quantities and damages to the supervisor.?

Ability to communicate with fellow workers, Supervisors and Managers. Communicate with your supervisor ensuring that all requirements are being met and that you have the necessary tools to complete the tasks at hand.?
  • Responsible for following Plant specified job specification, task list and completion of all requirement paperwork.?
  • Responsible for conducting him/herself in a safe manner and adhering to all required safety protocols and policies, including safe driving practices.?
  • Required to wear PPE properly in accordance with company standards. • Keep the area around your workstation clean and free from dirt and debris; this may include cleaning assigned ?areas of the building or pieces of equipment as instructed by your supervisor.?
  • Must be able to work assigned shifts, including working overtime and attending after shift meetings as needed.?
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
