Job description

Kamatics is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support daily shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and transportation activities. This position is responsible for accurately receiving incoming materials, preparing domestic and international shipments, maintaining inventory transactions within the ERP system, and coordinating material movement with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Receive incoming shipments by unloading trucks and delivery vehicles, unpacking materials, inspecting for damage, verifying quantities, and accurately processing receipts.
  • Physically move materials throughout the facility while maintaining proper inventory control.
  • Coordinate the shipment of work-in-process material with Kamatics drivers and outside suppliers, ensuring all required documentation accompanies each shipment.
  • Maintain organized processing records while material is at outside suppliers.
Inventory & ERP Transactions
  • Accurately process shipping and receiving transactions within the ERP system.
  • Record receipts from suppliers, customers, and government agencies.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through timely and accurate data entry.
  • Maintain shipping files, logs, spreadsheets, and related documentation.
Transportation & Documentation
  • Prepare shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Shipper's Letters of Instruction, and other transportation documents.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments with freight carriers and logistics providers.
  • Utilize carrier web portals to schedule shipments and complete transportation documentation.
  • Assist Transportation Coordinators with customer shipments as needed.
Operational Excellence
  • Maintain personal productivity and quality standards while following established departmental procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, carriers, and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or material control within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Required Skills
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory, or material control processes.
  • Ability to accurately process transactions within an ERP system.
  • Experience preparing domestic and international shipping documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of transportation and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with international shipping documentation and freight carrier portals.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Frequent grasping and handling of materials and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional forklift operation.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to meet business and customer needs.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with regular movement of materials and equipment.
