Job description

Position Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials and finished goods. This position loads and unloads trucks, prepares shipments, verifies materials, and enters shipment data into the company’s computer system while following proper handling and safety procedures.


1st Shift: 4:00am - 2:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Load trucks to prepare materials and products for shipment.
  • Verify shipments to ensure correct materials, quantities, and documentation.
  • Perform packing and crating of materials to ensure safe transportation.
  • Apply proper tagging, labeling, and handling instructions for outgoing shipments.
  • Secure and brace materials within trailers to prevent damage during transport.
  • Unload incoming trucks and inspect deliveries for accuracy and condition.
  • Receive materials into the computer system and complete required documentation.
  • Move materials throughout the facility using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Maintain an organized shipping and receiving area.
  • General material handling
  • Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by a supervisor or member of management.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to accurately verify materials, quantities, and shipping documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter data into company systems.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (or willingness to obtain certification).
