SHIPPING & RECEIVING REPRESENTATIVE
ROLE OVERVIEW
Shipping & Receiving Representatives in our Production warehouse are an important part of the team's success. They oversee timely and accurate shipments of Kwik Lok products, handle inventory, and ensure our food safety program requirements are upheld. This position is vital to guaranteeing shipments to our customers are filled in an accurate, efficient and safe manner.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
Shipping/Receiving:
  • Review all sales orders and transfer orders prior to shipping, ensuring accuracy in product, quantity, quality, and ship dates
  • Create shipping quotes
  • Prepare shipments and associated documentation (international, domestic, BOL, parcel, LTL, etc.)
  • Process shipments in NetSuite
  • Track and receive shipments using NetSuite
  • Inspect incoming vehicles for cleanliness and signs of possible contamination of received product, and outgoing loads of product being sent to customers
  • Frequently collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies, ensure fulfillment, and address issues or customer complaints per EB 7.5 and GFSI requirements

Inventory:
  • Segregate and label non-conforming incoming/outgoing material so as not to be mixed with conforming product
  • Perform weekly inventory checks, cycle counts, and compare to quantities in NetSuite, investigating any discrepancies
  • Perform various inventory control operations, including stocking, rotations, and movements
  • Build packaging boxes, pallets, and crates
  • Operate forklift

Other Duties:
  • Support Kwik Lok production activities through the manufacture of Kwik Lok closures with a focus on continuing improvement of quality, food safety, and manufacturing processes.
  • Follow all company established policies and GFSI food safety and quality guidelines and procedures
  • Daily housekeeping of work areas; leaves warehouse clean, organized and ready for the next shift
  • Proactively inspect workspace for any errors, damages, or repairs needed
  • Monitors and performs regular checks of shipping equipment for issues that may pose food safety, operational, or safety concerns
  • Assist in streamlining processes, making recommendations that allow for increased productivity
  • Possess In-depth knowledge of company production practices and GFSI food safety requirements
  • Perform additional functions assigned for the good of the organization, including helping other production departments during any downtime

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education requirements: High School Diploma
  • Years of experience: at least 1 year of experience in shipping and/or receiving
  • Skills required: Forklift 1-5 years of experience, forklift certified a plus
  • Knowledge required: Processing parcel and LTL shipments, export documentation, performing spot quotes, experience with ERP systems (particularly NetSuite) a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background screening

  • Compensation: $19.00 - 21.63/hour commensurate with experience
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
  • Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (60 day waiting period)
  • Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply)
  • Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year)
    • Vacation: 120 hours a year, with increases based on years of service
    • Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): 1 Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
    • Sick Leave: 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year
  • Other Compensation: Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses
  • Location: Yakima, Washington
  • Work environment: Bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking. Noise level in office environment 10dB, 85-95 dB in production environment. Regularly sitting and/or standing at a computer.
