D&L, Inc. | Full-Time | Commercial & Industrial HVAC

D&L is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead our sheet metal fabrication operations and support the day-to-day production needs of our commercial and industrial HVAC projects.

This position is responsible for supervising sheet metal fabrication personnel, coordinating shop workflow, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring fabricated materials are completed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong sheet metal fabrication experience who can work alongside the team while keeping production organized and moving efficiently.

This is a full-time, long-term position with a Monday-Friday schedule. This is commercial and industrial work—no residential work!

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide direction to sheet metal fabrication employees
  • Plan and prioritize daily shop production based on project schedules and field needs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, HVAC plans, shop drawings, and specifications
  • Oversee fabrication of ductwork, fittings, transitions, plenums, curbs, and other sheet metal components
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and proper fit
  • Operate and oversee equipment including CNC plasma tables, shears, brakes, rollers, welders, and other fabrication equipment
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and field crews regarding fabrication needs and changes
  • Troubleshoot fabrication issues and find practical solutions
  • Monitor material usage and help minimize waste
  • Train and mentor fabrication employees
  • Assign work and help manage manpower based on production needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop
  • Ensure employees follow company safety procedures and properly use PPE and equipment
  • Communicate production status, material needs, delays, and other concerns to management
  • Stay hands-on with fabrication and assist the team when needed
  • 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication experience, preferably in commercial or industrial HVAC.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or foreman experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC sheet metal fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and HVAC plans.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication equipment and tools.
  • Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions, layouts, and material requirements.
  • Ability to lead a team while maintaining a hands-on approach.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
