Job Title: Fuel Service / Lube Truck Driver

Job Description:

Shawn's Lawns is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fuel Service / Lube Truck Driver to join our team in Stamford. This is a vital role responsible for ensuring our entire fleet of smallย machinery, trucks, and heavy equipment is fueled, lubricated, and ready for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Refueling Operations: Safely drive a fuel truck to various yard locations and job sites to refuel equipment andย trucks.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform daily on-site lubrication (greasing), fluid top-offs (oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, DEF), changing filters.
  • Daily Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the fuel/lube truck to ensure safe operation and DOT compliance.
  • Environmental Safety: Strictly follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials, preventing spills, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain precise logs of fuel dispensed, fluids used, and equipment serviced throughout the shift.
  • Communication: Identify and report any mechanical issues or leaks found during servicing to the shop foreman or mechanic.

Qualifications:

  • License: Valid Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL) - Class B minimum.
  • Endorsements: Must have Tanker (N) and Hazardous Materials (H) endorsements.
  • Driving Record: Clean driving record and the ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
  • Experience: Previous experience with fuel delivery, heavy equipment operation, or basic mechanical maintenance is highly preferred.
  • Schedule: Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings or evenings) to ensure equipment is serviced while not in use by crews.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs, pull heavy fuel hoses, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
