As a key member of our team, you will drive strategic sales growth while building and nurturing strong salon partnerships. Drawing on your expertise and authentic relationship skills, you will spend most of your time in the field, ensuring our brands are front of mind and our products are heroed in every salon you support.

How you will create impact in this role:

Territory Management:

  • Manage and grow sales within an assigned salon territory, delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and distribution targets.
  • Plan and prioritise salon outreach and visits to balance new business prospecting with support for existing accounts.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all salon contacts, activities, and opportunities in the CRM and provide timely territory reporting and forecasts.

Business Development:

  • Conduct regular outbound outreach (calls, emails, virtual and in-person meetings) to identify and prospect new salons in the territory.
  • Open new KEVIN.MURPHY colour and care salon accounts by presenting the brand story, portfolio, and education offering, and converting salons from competitive brands where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities aligned to territory growth objectives.

Sales Growth:

  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales, distribution, and sell-through targets across the territory. Introduce and promote new product launches, promotions, and programs to drive incremental sales and expand KEVIN.MURPHY’s footprint in each account.
  • Work with salons to increase average order size and category penetration through cross-selling and up-selling of the KEVIN.MURPHY portfolio.

Education & Brand Representation:

  • Execute the KEVIN.MURPHY direct to salon sales and education strategy at the local level, ensuring consistent brand standards in all activities.
  • Collaborate with North American Education Team to plan, promote, and support in-salon classes, demonstrations, and events that build product knowledge and advocacy.
  • Represent KEVIN.MURPHY professionally at industry events, shows, and education programs, acting as a passionate brand ambassador.

Client Support:

  • Strengthen relationships with existing salons through regular follow-up, business reviews, and proactive support that drives retail and service sell-through.
  • Provide business and retail coaching to salon owners and managers on assortment, inventory, merchandising, and retail best practices.
  • Partner with distributor sales teams and key contacts to align on priorities, share salon insights, and coordinate joint support for shared customers.

Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, promotions, and education offerings within the territory and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Track and report on salon and consumer trends, emerging concepts, and local market dynamics that may impact KEVIN.MURPHY performance.
  • Share actionable insights and feedback with the KEVIN.MURPHY NA team to inform sales, education, and marketing plans.

Ideal Skills Competencies & Experience

Skills:

  • Strong demonstrated business-development skills, including prospecting, outbound calling, pipeline building, and closing new accounts.
  • Excellent relationship-building and account management skills, with a consultative, partnership-focused approach.
  • Confident verbal and written communication and presentation skills, comfortable speaking with owners, managers, and stylists.
  • Effective territory planning, time management, and prioritisation skills to balance new business and existing account support.
  • Ability to interpret sales reports, identify trends, and translate insights into clear territory actions. Proficient use of Microsoft office, CRM (BI, Salesforce etc) to manage activities, contacts, and forecasts.
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent time-management and organisational skills.

Competencies:

  • Results-oriented mindset with a consistent focus on achieving and exceeding sales, distribution, and sell-through targets.
  • Customer-centric approach, always looking to support salon growth and long-term partnership value.
  • High level of initiative, resilience, and persistence in outbound outreach and follow-up.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with distributor partners and the North American Education team.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities and programs.
  • Professional, polished brand representation in all interactions, events, and education settings.

Experience:

  • 4-5+ years of field or outbound sales experience/account management, ideally in the professional beauty, salon, or premium consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing a geographic territory and delivering against defined sales targets and KPIs.
  • Experience opening new accounts and converting competitive salons or customers to a new brand or portfolio. Experience supporting or coordinating in-salon education events, classes, or demonstrations alongside technical/education teams.
  • Background working within a distributor–brand–salon model is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory, including some evenings and weekends for shows and education.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence and have consistent access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance or a similar discipline preferred; an equivalent mix of education and relevant sales experience will be considered.
