About Brillante Academy
Brillante Academy Public Charter School opened its doors in August 2023. In our fourth year, we will have Pre-K3 through 4th grade and will serve over 530 students from the Rio Grande Valley in the Mission area and surrounding communities in its first year. We will continue to grow one grade-level a year until 8th grade. Over the next decade, we plan to expand our network across the state of Texas to serve over 7,000 students. The Charter Management Organization (CMO) for Brillante Academy is Seton Education Partners, a Catholicly inspired organization that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Seton Education Partners is also the CMO for our sister schools, the Brilla Schools Network, which are having a transformational impact in Bronx, NY.

Position Overview
The Part-Time Van Driver is a vital member of the Operations Team, which is responsible for designing and implementing efficient day-to-day systems and routines that contribute to a joyful school culture and the highest-levels of learning, instruction and organizational stewardship. The primary responsibility of the Van Driver and Custodian is to safely transport our students to and from school, and maintain a safe and clean campus environment to support learning. Tasks of the Part-Time Van Driver and Custodia include but are not limited to:
  • Safely transporting students to and from school via the Mcallen Van Route
  • Taking daily bus attendance
  • Building meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Communicating behavior challenges to manager/school leader
  • Cleaning campus after school hours to ensure it is ready to welcome students and staff every morning
  • Performing other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • Belief in the Brillante Academy mission, model and values
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience working in a school and/or with elementary aged students strongly preferred
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and relationship building skills
  • Able to work the schedule ( approximately Monday - Friday 6:00-8:00 AM AND 3:15-9:15 PM)
