The Part-time Curriculum Specialist at Savvas Learning Company is a dedicated education specialist that provides ongoing support for teachers and introductory product orientations for print, digital, and blended programs. This self-starter role requires strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships with K-12 employees from superintendents to paraprofessionals, ensuring client satisfaction and providing excellent customer service.
This position will be required to attend on-site customer meetings in Northern California including the Bay area and Sacramento.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide consistent, on-going communication and support for pilot teachers throughout the pilot process.
  • Provide customer feedback to sales, product, and marketing teams to enhance offerings and strategies.
  • Maintain content level expertise through the Savvas Learning Company certification process and agreed upon materials.
  • Deliver Program Activation trainings for new and on-going customer accounts.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and knowledge of Savvas Learning Company's print and digital solutions.
  • Maintain positive on-going relationships with customers throughout the sales cycle and after activation, providing support or re-direction to appropriate Savvas teams to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key 9-12 decision-makers within the market segment.
  • Collaborate closely with Savvas teams, including sales, services, and product management, to ensure alignment, support, and to address and resolve customer satisfaction issues, ensuring overall customer success.

  • Regional travel will be required, with requests sometimes made with short notice; long distance travel in cars is possible.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of 9-12 education experience to include classroom teaching experience.
  • Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is desirable.
  • Experience in public speaking and creating engaging presentations for diverse audiences, including teachers, parents, district administrators, superintendents, or adoption committees.
  • Biliterate in English/Spanish preferred, or proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape preferred.

Additional Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Expert knowledge of education theory and market trends in 9-12 Math.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for learning in 9-12 education.
  • Strong communication skills to relate to all levels of 9-12 employees, from superintendents to paraprofessionals.
  • Proficiency with technology skills, including all presentation software and hardware (PC or Mac, whiteboard technology, 1:1 devices) for developing and delivering multimedia presentations.
  • Ability to have pointed conversations with school districts in specific content areas.
  • Understanding of sales campaign strategy, market trends, and the full continuum of Savvas Learning Company services to better understand the customer and audience.
  • Collaborative mindset, functioning as a flexible, team-oriented partner who shares responsibilities.
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills in managing time, communicating effectively, and organizing physical and digital materials to ensure efficient workflow and successful project execution.

Other Duties Assigned by Management:
  • Assist with special projects as they are assigned.

Hiring Range: $37/hr. - $40/hr.
Compensable time includes program and pilot activation, internal training $30/hr., and travel & administrative $20/hr. The posted hiring range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting and remains subject to modification. Compensation is determined by factors such as, but not limited, to, skills, experience, budget, and internal equity.
This position is eligible for sick time and participation in our 401(k) program, which includes a company match. Additionally, we provide the necessary resources to perform your role, including a company-issued laptop.
