Job description
The Director of Faculty Development leads and coordinates faculty-centered development efforts, including learning communities, workshops, and structured support programs related to promotion, tenure, reappointment, advancement in title, and post-tenure vitality. Working collaboratively with faculty, department chairs, and college leadership, the Director helps foster a culture of continuous growth, mentoring, and scholarly productivity. This position focuses on developmental and educational support and does not manage or overseeconfidential personnel evaluation processes.
The Director of Faculty Development collaborates with COE Executive Team, Office for Faculty Excellence, COE Office for Research and Innovation, Director of Research Support

Support the creation of career-stage-based, or topic-focused faculty communities aligned with faculty needs and College priorities.

The selected candidate will retain their faculty status and receive an administrative stipend. Contingent on availability of funding.
- Current full-time, tenured faculty member within the College of Education.
- Demonstrated experience in faculty mentoring, professional development, or academic leadership.
- Knowledge of faculty career pathways, promotion and tenure expectations, and academic progression.
- Evidence of effective collaboration across departments or interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Demonstrated strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading faculty development programs, learning communities, or professional development workshops.
- Experience supporting faculty through promotion, tenure, or advancement processes in a developmental capacity.
- Familiarity with evidence-based faculty development models (e.g., learning communities, mentoring frameworks).
- Demonstrated commitment to a culture of care and holistic faculty development practices.
