Job description

Customer Service/Field Service Engineer position available in the Ann Arbor, MI.


This is travel position located at our client location who is leading manufacturer. Direct hire opportunity with a pay rate of $35.00 an hour plus OT. Schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with OT and weekends/holidays during busy times. Must be flexible. Some in office work for training. Will provide on-site and remote troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation, and support for injection mold, aluminum extrusion, and die cast machines. Requires strong knowledge of industrial machinery, electrical systems, mechanical principles, and precision components.


Key Responsibilities for the Customer Service/Field Service Engineer:

-Install new machines and components; oversee final acceptance testing

-Train customers and service technicians on machine operation

-Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues on-site and by phone

-Use and maintain technical and precision measurement equipment

-Fabricate or modify machine components for customer-specific needs

-Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics

-Work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems

-Prepare technical reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Minimum Qualifications for the Customer Service/Field Service Engineer:

-Associate’s degree or 2–3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination)

-Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical theory

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Valid state-issued driver’s license


Preferred Qualifications

-PLC experience

-Mechanical background

-Prior customer service experience


Travel Requirements

-75–90% travel required

-Travel to customer sites for installation, rigging, assembly, and training

-Travel within the U.S.
