We are currently looking for a Service Manager to join our Service Department team located at our headquarters in Granite City, IL. Our ideal candidate for a Service Manager is someone who has the skills to effectively manage a team and department.
Primary responsibilities for icon's Service Manager include:
  • Leading and supporting HVAC technicians to ensure they meet service demands effectively while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Identifying and generating additional service opportunities, promoting and expanding maintenance agreements, and estimating bids for contract work.
  • Collaborating with dispatch to optimize technician scheduling based on skill level, efficiency, and training needs, while ensuring timely procurement of necessary parts.
  • Providing clients and company leadership with key project updates, including estimated job completion times, labor hours, and materials used or needed.
  • Maintaining strong communication with vendors and factory representatives to address warranty concerns, product recalls, and equipment performance issues.
  • Implementing ongoing training programs to enhance HVAC technicians' skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Ensuring service vehicles are properly maintained and utilized efficiently to support field operations.
  • Implementing strategies to expand preventive maintenance revenue and focusing the sales team on key market segments.
  • Working closely with Service Administration to ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports and invoices to customers.

Primary qualifications for icon's Service Manager include:
  • 5+ years of HVAC management experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
  • In-depth expertise and hands-on knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Proven track record as a high performer with a strong work ethic and the ability to inspire pride in craftsmanship within the team.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with a solid understanding of local codes and the ability to efficiently utilize resources to resolve challenges.
