Job description

Amentum is seeking candidates for a SERE Instructor position in Southern Pines, NC. This onsite role involves training select Department of Defense (DoD) personnel in Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) principles, following DoD policy and guidance. Responsibilities: * Conducting instruction during individual, small and large group laboratory settings as it relates to the principles of SERE and procedures supporting DoD policy, guidance, and the Code of Conduct. * Conducting training events and assessing student performance during the learning processes. * Use blended learning techniques such as eLearning tools, lectures, classroom discussions, team exercises, readings, case studies, role-play, and demonstrations of required skills through work-related tasks. * Duties may include developing training materials, coordinating, and resourcing training events. * May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees to support team growth. * Duties will require a willingness and ability to work in austere conditions, nonstandard hours, and occasional weekends. Limited short-duration CONUS travel may also be required. Minimum Requirements: * Must have a Secret US Government Clearance to be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret US Government Clearance. * Must pass a human-factors screening. * Experience delivering instructional teaching sessions that meet specific learning objectives. * Ability to facilitate learning by applying subtle course facilitation skills and effective presentation skills. * Must have a sound working knowledge and proficiency in the use of instructional methodologies (informal lecture, guided discussion, and role play) to present information and dilemmas. * Must have at least basic level MS Office skills (specifically Word and PowerPoint) and proficiency with using email. * Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. * Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible and adaptable as needed. * Candidates must be willing to travel for an on-site interview at their own expense. Preferred Qualifications: * Local resident. * Graduate of an accredited U.S. military/government survival, evasion, resistance, and escape (SERE) course. * Knowledge of Department of Defense guidance regarding the Code of Conduct. * Graduate of a basic instructor course with an understanding of training approach and processes. * Operational experience in Personnel Recovery tasks or with SERE TTP. Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits: This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future. Compensation Details:
