Job description

Job Title: Krav Maga/Martial Arts Instructor

Location: Middletown, DE
Job Type:  Part-time
Reports To: Program Director / Head Instructor

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced  Martial Arts Instructor to lead engaging, high-energy classes that focus on self-defense, discipline, fitness, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in martial arts (Krav Maga a plus), a passion for teaching, and the ability to motivate students of all ages and skill levels in a safe and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct students in techniques, including striking, grappling, weapon defense, situational awareness, and stress drills

  • Plan and lead classes appropriate to skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

  • Monitor and assess individual student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance

  • Ensure the physical safety of all students during class activities

  • Promote discipline, confidence, respect, and self-control in and out of class

  • Prepare students for rank advancement and/or real-world self-defense scenarios

  • Maintain class attendance records and progress reports

  • Stay current with evolving training methodologies, safety practices, and Krav Maga developments

  • Represent the school/organization professionally at events, demos, or seminars

  • Assist with marketing, student retention, and school growth initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching/instructional experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Certified Krav Maga instructor or equivalent martial arts certification preferred, but not required.

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)

  • Physically fit and able to demonstrate techniques accurately

  • Background check required

Preferred Skills (not mandatory):

  • Experience working with children, teens, and/or women’s self-defense classes

  • Military or law enforcement background a plus

  • Experience in other martial arts (Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, etc.)
