Job description

Now accepting resumes for possible future openings of qualified individuals to serve as Instructors at the U.S. Army Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) school at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
ResponsibilitiesProvide subject matter expertise instructing SERE students in accordance with the course management plan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Superior communication and mentorship skills
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Expertise with the various skills taught at SERE

QualificationsRequired:
  • Full spectrum SERE-C graduate, to include Wartime, Peacetime Governmental Detention (PGD) and Hostage Detention (HD) training.
  • US Citizen
  • SECRET clearance
  • Certified to instruct IAW USA SERE School Instructor Certification Program
  • Must pass a physical examination and urinalysis screening. Instructors will be subjected to high levels of physical and mental stress in the performance of normal duties.
  • Physical requirements may include holding up to 75 pounds of supported weight; lift, lower, and reach overhead while holding up to 10 pounds of equipment; lift and carry 50 pounds up to 50 meters/10 minutes; lift and lower up to 75 pounds of supported weight; stand for 50 minutes with a 10-minute break; navigate uneven terrain for up to 200 m.
  • Must pass a SERE Human Factors Psychological Test
  • Present a professional and credible image at all times
    Preferred:
  • Expertise in the skills taught within the various SERE sections.
  • Teaching and management experience in a DoD SERE-related program
  • A fully certified Evaluator in Field Training IAW the US Army Staff and Faculty Certification Plan.
