Job description

Job Title โ€“ Tech Service Eng./Tech.

Department โ€“ Technical Services

Reports to โ€“ Global Tech Services Manager

Job Summary

The Tech Service Eng./Tech. is primarily responsible to create an atmosphere to educate, train, develop and motivate through supervision and mentorship. They will lead by example always following company policies and procedures along with projecting integrity. They will maximize sales and profits by providing unmatched service to our clients.


Key areas of responsibility

  • Support NCS technology by providing pre-job planning, real time operational support, and post-job reviews
  • Track new products & technologies through field testing & performance data studies
  • Prepare job modeling reports for internal and external customers utilizing third party software and in-house applications
  • Liaison with Engineering and Product Line with product field design and required modifications
  • Provide technical support to the Sales and Business Development teams
  • Communicate with Operations to enhance customer support
  • Take lead on assigned NCR investigations and ensure the proper processes and resolution are completed and documented to prevent recurrence
  • Take lead on assigned projects with objectives including product performance improvements, NCS processes improvements, and product cost reduction opportunities
  • Interface with internal and external customers if job problems occur
  • Run/start jobs if field personnel are not available
  • Prepare Technical Sheets for Sales and Operations utilizing NCS developed applications
  • Promote safe work practices and higher standards of performance
  • Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer
  • Align individual goals with NCSโ€™s corporate goals, while adhering to and promoting the NCS Promise
  • Participate in Personal Development for Success (PDS)
  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University; required
  • Industry related experience including coiled tubing, fracturing, drilling, downhole tool operations; asset
  • Offshore operational experience and knowledge; asset
  • Highly analytical and gravitated to further analytical development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
  • Work with other teams, and exhibit effective communication
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent judgement, high level of efficiency & work ethic
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, manage priorities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in all weather conditions
  • Perform physical labour when necessary, in addition to standing or travelling for long periods of time
  • Ability to move or lift 25lbs โ€“ 50lbs


Additional Information

  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Employment Classification: Full-time, Regular
  • Work Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday, on call 24/7 for technical reference, holiday and weekend work is required at times
  • Special Equipment: Laptop
  • Travel: Domestic and international travel to various field and office locations required
  • Participate in online meetings that are scheduled catering to international time zones will be required at times
