Job description

Fullstack Java Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fullstack Java Engineer to join our team on a 6-12 month contract, working with our client Sephora in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development and be capable of designing, building, and maintaining scalable applications that support Sephora's business needs. You will work across the entire stack, from backend services and databases to front-end user interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
  • Build responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Work closely with product teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and ensure integration with external systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality through code reviews, unit testing, and automated testing.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability.
  • Ensure code quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain and manage database operations using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other RDBMS.
  • Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy and maintain applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack development, with a strong focus on Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with front-end technologies: JavaScript, React, Angular, Vue.js.
  • Proficient with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-based services.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
