The Senior WMS Analyst is responsible for the ongoing performance, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the distribution center. This role serves as the primary operational systems expert for the facility and plays a critical role in supporting uninterrupted warehouse operations in a multi-shift distribution environment.
Working independently, the Senior WMS Analyst partners closely with Operations and IT to support system enhancements, version rollouts, process improvements, training initiatives, and operational issue resolution. This position is responsible for maintaining system effectiveness, improving operational workflows, and ensuring WMS processes are standardized, accurate, and aligned with business needs.
CORE FUNCTIONS
WMS Ownership & Operational Support
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the distribution center
- Maintain overall WMS functionality, performance, and operational effectiveness
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve WMS-related issues impacting warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and transaction processing
- Monitor system activity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow performance
- Provide operational support for warehouse teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 distribution environment
- Provide remote and after-hours support as business needs require
Systems Improvement & Project Coordination
- Partner closely with IT to support system upgrades, version rollouts, testing, implementations, and enhancements
- Coordinate WMS-related projects from planning through implementation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating warehouse processes and recommending system-driven operational improvements
- Assist in testing and validating system changes to ensure operational readiness and minimize disruption to the business
Training & Documentation
- Train associates, supervisors, and operational leadership on WMS functionality, system processes, and best practices
- Develop, maintain, and update SOPs, process documentation, training materials, and user guides
- Encourage standardized system usage and operational consistency across departments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between warehouse operations and IT regarding WMS-related activities and issues
- Collaborate with operations leadership to align system capabilities with operational priorities and business objectives
- Communicate system issues, project updates, process changes, and operational impacts effectively across teams
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience serving as a WMS superuser, systems lead, trainer, analyst, or similar operational systems role required
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Deep experience in Warehouse Management System (WMS) in a distribution or warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control)
- Familiarity with RF scanners, MHE and Warehouse Automation
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system and operational issues
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365 products
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from a diverse group of end-users.
- Ability to train on SME topics.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with several abstract and concrete variables.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.

Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities. May provide functional guidance and training support to operational teams and system users
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Combination of warehouse and office environment. Frequent standing, walking, computer use, and interaction with warehouse operations required. . Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
