Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to design, develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise database solutions supporting critical business applications. The selected consultant will work on database development, ETL processes, data integration, migration, reporting, and performance optimization while ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of enterprise data.

This role also includes production support and close collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise databases, including stored procedures, indexing, views, SQL scripts, and database objects.
  • Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and workflows using SSIS, Python, PySpark, and SQL Server.
  • Build data ingestion and transformation workflows across raw, staging, curated, and analytics data layers.
  • Develop and optimize SQL scripts and stored procedures for data conversion, validation, and ongoing processing.
  • Execute large-scale data migration projects, including data cleansing, validation, and transformation across enterprise systems.
  • Design and implement logical and physical data models (ERDs).
  • Develop database components supporting transactional and reporting systems.
  • Build and maintain reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server database performance.
  • Provide production support, including troubleshooting performance issues and participating in on-call support when needed.
  • Collaborate with developers, business users, QA teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, development activities, code reviews, testing, and release cycles.
  • Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in Database Development or Data Engineering.

  • Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and SQL performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience with SSIS, Python, and/or PySpark for ETL development.

  • Strong experience with data modeling, data integration, and database design.

  • Experience developing Stored Procedures, Views, SQL Scripts, and other database components.

  • Experience executing enterprise-scale data migration, cleansing, validation, and transformation projects.

  • Experience building reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI.

  • Strong understanding of indexing strategies, query optimization, and database performance tuning.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins.

  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications in Government, Financial, or Legal environments.

  • Previous State or Government project experience is a plus.
