Job description

Need local to Long Beach.
This role will be ONSITE in Long Beach, CA from Monday to Wednesday each week, and then REMOTE for Thursday and Friday.
We need a SQL Server DBA / Developer for a 9+ month contract
VIDEO interview will be required.
The SQL Server DBA/Developer role requires a person with a minimum of 5 years work experience as a Microsoft SQL Server 2016 to 2022 Database Administrator and SQL Developer. Key responsibilities include working with Information Management and other staff to develop modifications to existing applications, test, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL-based applications, interfaces, and databases.
Tasks, Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design, Create, implement and maintain SQL Databases based on end user requirements
  2. Ensure database performance, reliability and stability
  3. Create reports using SSRS and other tools
  4. Create data integration using SSIS
  5. Create data presentations using Power BI and SSAS
  6. Create simple SharePoint applications
  7. Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for SQL Databases and applications
  8. Create technical documentation

Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL
  • Experienced with creating and modifying SQL databases
  • Experienced writing complex queries
  • Experienced with testing and troubleshooting SQL based applications and integrations
  • Experienced creating technical documentation
  • Experience in Always On High Availability Groups implementation
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery implementation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power BI, SSRS, and SSIS
  • Experience taking direction from a business analyst or project manager
  • Proficiency in Python, ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, jQuery, and PowerShell
Desired Skills, Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server 2016 to 2022 Database Administrator and SQL Developer, technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with software vendors
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
