Job Summary:
Fidelity TalentSource is your destination for discovering your next temporary role at Fidelity Investments. They are currently sourcing for a Senior Software Engineer in Test to work in Boston, MA, focusing on ensuring product quality across their digital asset platform. The role involves designing and implementing automated testing solutions and collaborating with various teams to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with developers and business stakeholders to embed quality into the team’s workflow
• Analyze requirements and identify potential risks early
• Implement efficient automated test coverage for each story’s “definition of done”
• Mentor engineers on testing practices
• Adopt and leverage existing testing solutions
• Work towards the continuous evolution of test strategies across product teams
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong experience with test automation using languages such as Java, and frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Cucumber, JUnit, or Spring Boot Test
• Proficiency in databases, SQL, data validation, and understanding how to test data workflows
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, and containerization technologies such as Docker or ECS
• Experience building and maintaining end-to-end and integration tests across distributed or microservice-based systems
• Experience working with version control systems like GIT
• Proven understanding of Agile development processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment practices
• A proven foundation in software engineering or test automation – bachelor’s degree + preferred, 5 years’ experience
• Ability to advocate for quality and influence peers through collaboration and technical reasoning
• Strong communication skills and ability to articulate test approaches to engineers, product partners, and leadership
• Experience with requirements review, defect analysis, working with distributed teams, and assisting test reporting
• Analytical approach with the ability to diagnose issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Adaptability, eagerness to learn new tools and internal platforms, and dedication to delivering high-quality solutions
Preferred:
• Experience with AI-assisted test generation to improve automation coverage and efficiency would be a plus
