Role Overview: 

The Manager of Business Development Operations is responsible for directly supporting the Domestic Business Development (BD) and Strategy teams in the pursuit of new investment and job opportunities for the state. This role will assist with business development project management, system development and management, and will directly support the Director of Business Development Operations. This individual will also provide support to the Director of Strategic Operations to implement change management processes. Additionally, will liaise with the Marketing team, statewide regional directors, and project managers in responding to RFI / RFP inquiries and site visit needs.  

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $63,787 – $66,000, commensurate with education and work experience.

A Day in the Life:

  • Ensure smooth coordination of site selector engagement activities and databases.
  • Facilitate cross-team communication between BD, Strategy, Marketing, and executive leadership.
  • Support business development sales meetings through agenda preparation, materials coordination, and execution.
  • Maintain digital asset management systems for sales and site materials.
  • Serve as liaison for BD- and Executive-related system enhancements including CRM, SharePoint, and other systems.
  • Manage inbound and outbound business development, event logistics and operational enablement.
  • Support development and execution of site campaigns, events, and tours with BD and Marketing.
  • Oversee development and production of core sales and site marketing materials to support business development efforts.
  • Lead and manage RFP/RFI response process coordination in collaboration with BD and Marketing.
  • Serve as backup for Site Selection Specialist.
  • Coordinate and manage major project site visits in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support Business Development (BD) and Strategy leadership in updating, maintaining, and implementing processes, plans, policies, and procedures.

What You'll Need for Success:

Education:

  • Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field or demonstrated experience.
  • Project management certification or associated experience preferred. 

Experience:

  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years office management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Indiana’s business environment, incentives, economic development programs, and local/regional economic development organizations preferred.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with internal and external sales teams preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics, Concur, SharePoint.

Ability to:

  • Learn and maintain robust understanding of Indiana’s incentives and the policies and operations related directly thereto.
  • Maintain confidentiality, exercise tact and diplomacy.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with external vendors, contractors, and economic development and industry partners, as well as other internal business units within IEDC.
  • Interact with senior leadership and executives
