Overview
Job Purpose
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is looking for a Senior Research Manager to join the NYSE Transactions Research & Analytics team. As a Senior Research Manager, you will help bolster the group's trading research efforts focusing on US equities and options research initiatives.
You will be responsible for creating and executing a research plan focused on the NYSE's business lines to drive innovation and growth. You will prioritize research to design and build innovative quantitative methods to drive exchange trading product evolution, identify key market trends, devise advanced analytics, and unlock the next big opportunities for the business and industry. You will help devise appropriate research functionality, leveraging industry best practices and resources available within NYSE and ICE. In this role you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, including regular interaction with NYSE and ICE senior management, to extend and defend the NYSE's leadership position in the cash equity and options trading, listing and technology businesses.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute on research initiatives targeted at the NYSE's trading, listings, and data businesses.
  • Apply advanced quantitative methods to drive product development and enhancement.
  • Leverage research skills to extract valuable and actionable insights from trading data, unlocking opportunities for the business, and further enhancing the trading experience of exchange members.
  • Regularly interact with internal and external stakeholders to help develop and form the research roadmap of the group.

Knowledge and Experience
  • A record of outstanding academic achievement, with a Masters or Ph.D. required.
  • 5+ years of work experience within the financial services industry, working in electronic trading, exchange operations or other financial services.
  • Excellent understanding of US equity and/or options market structure and limit order book dynamics.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and Python (other languages a plus).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, following up with various stakeholders and determining best course as circumstances warrant.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to interface with a multitude of different internal and external resources, collaborative nature with strong intellectual curiosity.

New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $200,000 - 230,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
