Job description

Under general direction from the Area Administrator within the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS), the Senior Apprenticeship Consultant is responsible for providing supervisory, technical assistance and guidance to staff who support apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs while serving as a source of information to workers, employers, their representatives, and the general public regarding Apprenticeship, Pre-Apprenticeship and On-The-job training programs. Duties include, but not limited to the following: Develop and consult with Apprenticeship and "On-The-Job" training programs, provide guidance on compliance with state and federal apprenticeship laws and regulations, conduct program reviews, attend apprenticeship program meetings, public meetings, job fairs and outreach events.
This position requires the incumbent to maintain acceptable, consistent and regular attendance at such level as is determined at the Department's sole discretion; Communicate effectively in dealing with the public and/or other employees; Develop and maintain knowledge and skill related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct. Must be regularly available and willing to work the hours the department determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
