As a DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management System) Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with the end customer, vendors, and project personnel to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of DERMS solutions within the client's territory. This role requires expertise in managing complex projects, assembling and leading delivery teams, coordinating vendor and subcontractor engagements, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones. You will be responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle, including scope, cost, schedule, and risk management, while demonstrating strong judgment, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
The DERMS Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in growing TRC's consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain.
Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Own the scope, cost, schedule, and risks for DERMS projects, managing multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants, and vendors to deliver solutions successfully
  • Contract Development: Create and manage contractual Statements of Work (SOWs) with clients and suppliers, clearly defining assumptions and responsibilities.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to optimize project margins and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the project team, assigning tasks, monitoring outputs, and addressing resource gaps or individual shortfalls.
  • Client Representation: Act as TRC's representative, ensuring alignment between client and TRC's interests for project success.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring contractual, operational, and relationship aspects are aligned for project success.
  • Team Environment: Foster a positive work environment and lead the team to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Workflow Management: Develop and manage workflow plans from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, production turnover, and client migration.
  • Schedule and Budget Tracking: Plan, prepare, and monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure controlled completion of project steps.
  • Risk Management: Prepare and maintain risk assessments and mitigation action plans.
  • Resource Forecasting: Maintain resource forecasts to ensure schedule compliance and desired results
  • Stakeholder Communication: Update internal and external stakeholders on project progress, changes, and risks.
  • Executive Reporting: Lead core team meetings and present project progress at Steering Committee meetings with senior executives from TRC and the client.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the utility domain.
  • Previous experience implementing large SCADA, EMS, ADMS, or DERMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technology projects in electric or gas utility environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to address C-level executives and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional team-building and motivational skills.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or as needed to client locations.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • PMP Certification.
  • Familiarity with major EMS, SCADA, ADMS, OMS systems, including OSII, GE, ABB, Schneider, and Siemens.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
