Job description

ASR is seeking an experienced Field Technical Representative to lead field support operations for a Department of Defense robotics and autonomous systems logistics, maintenance, training, and sustainment program. This position provides team supervision, technical escalation, training support oversight, mission liaison support, and programmatic coordination across geographically dispersed mission sites.
Responsibilities:
  • Personnel Supervision and Management: Direct and supervise the Field Service Representative team, including performance management, scheduling, and career development. Coordinate travel logistics and deployment schedules to ensure mission coverage requirements are met effectively across all mission sites.
  • Quality Assurance and TSP Oversight: Review and approve all Training Support Packages developed by the field team to ensure technical accuracy and instructional effectiveness. Standardize training methodologies and verify that operator and maintainer classes meet program requirements and customer expectations.
  • Mission Liaison and Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for unit leadership and program managers regarding equipment readiness and training status. Generate Situation Reports, equipment readiness metrics, and training completion summaries for program leadership.
  • Technical Escalation and Support: Provide high-level technical guidance to Field Service Representatives on complex electronics troubleshooting and repair tasks. Step into the field as needed to resolve difficult technical issues that exceed the standard scope of field support operations.
  • Programmatic Coordination: Work with engineering and logistics teams to ensure the field team has the necessary tools, parts, and information to support the system. Identify trends in system failures or training gaps and report them to the program office for long-term resolution.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics Technology, Management, or a related field. Significant senior-level military leadership and technical training, such as Senior NCO or Officer experience in a technical branch, may be substituted for a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressive experience in electronics maintenance and technical instruction, with at least two (2) to three (3) years in a team lead, supervisory, or management role.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage a geographically dispersed team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and logistics coordination.
  • Quality Assurance: Expertise in reviewing technical documentation and Training Support Packages for accuracy, clarity, and instructional design standards.
  • Strategic Communication: Skilled in brief preparation and acting as a liaison between field units, senior military leadership, and program management offices.
  • Advanced Technical Oversight: Ability to serve as the final authority on complex system troubleshooting and repair logic.
  • Operational Management: Capability to manage high-tempo operations and ensure team compliance with extensive travel requirements.
  • Analytical Reporting: Ability to synthesize field data into actionable Situation Reports, readiness metrics, and trend analyses for program stakeholders.
  • Conflict Resolution: Competence in resolving technical disagreements and personnel issues in high-pressure, deployed environments.
  • Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Travel: Required up to 50%.
