Join our Global Supply Management team as a Senior Program Manager for the Cost Excellence Ideation Team, where you will play a critical role in developing material cost savings strategies and opportunities across Medtronic's $6bn of annual material spend.

As the Sr. Program Manager - Cost Excellence, you'll play a pivotal role in driving material cost savings and operational excellence across Medtronic's Contract Manufacturing Portfolio. Your day will be dynamic, engaging both strategic thinking and hands-on collaboration:

  • Strategic Opportunity Prioritization: You'll assess, bundle, and prioritize a diverse pipeline of cost savings initiatives, ensuring balanced delivery across multiple savings levers to support Medtronic's goal of $300M in annual material cost reductions.

  • Material Cost Management: Develop and implement comprehensive cost management strategies for high-impact value streams, leveraging your expertise in supplier bid analysis, make-vs-buy decisions, and medical device sourcing.

  • Portfolio Spend Analysis: Use advanced analytics tools (Power BI, Planisware) to analyze spend data, uncover key trends, and identify actionable opportunities for cost optimization.

  • Process & Tool Improvement: Design and deploy improved business processes, systems, and tools across teams and partner functions, applying Lean methodologies and best practices to maximize efficiency and cost savings.

  • Performance Tracking & Problem Solving: Lead operating mechanisms, track key performance indicators, and drive collaborative problem-solving in tier meetings.

  • Business Case Development: Work closely with the evaluation team to develop and ensure robust financial analysis and high-confidence recommendations.

  • Leadership Communication: Prepare and present program updates to senior leadership during monthly operating reviews, translating complex data and business insights into clear, actionable strategies.

  • Cross-Functional Ideation: Lead and participate in cross-functional ideation events to uncover new material cost savings opportunities.

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with stakeholders across Category Management, Supplier Optimization, VAVE, and other organizations to generate, evaluate, and implement programmatic savings ideas.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 7years strategic business or sourcing support experience, or a master's degree with 5years of strategic business or sourcing support experience.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Supplier Management Expertise: Proven experience in supplier bid analysis, supplier selection for medical devices, and make-vs-buy analysis to optimize sourcing decisions.

  • Electro-Mechanical Assembly Experience: Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assemblies, including PCB/PCA manufacturing, cable assemblies, and implantable device design requirements.

  • Advanced Analytics Proficiency: Skilled in leveraging analytics tools such as Power BI and Planisware for data-driven decision making and program management.

  • Lean Belt Certification: Demonstrated application of Lean methodologies to drive operational excellence and cost efficiency.

  • Business Acumen & Financial Insight: High degree of business acumen with the ability to analyze financial data and translate insights into actionable cost savings strategies.

  • Proven Cost Optimization Leadership: Track record of leading cost savings initiatives and achieving measurable savings goals across diverse product portfolios.

  • Portfolio Management Skills: Ability to balance and manage priorities across a wide range of products and projects.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$144,000.00 - $216,000.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
