Join our dynamic team as a Senior Production Operator! You'll be responsible for running one or more operational pieces of equipment, which includes loading and unloading rolls, operating converting machines, maintaining a supply of hot melts to the coating head, and proper monitoring of process parameters.
How you'll help the formula:
- Works with the Production Group Leader on leading team in the absence of a shift leader or production group leader.
- Acts as a trainer on specific machines and SAP.
- Upholds company safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Maintains work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition by sweeping, trash removal, and returning equipment & tools to proper storage location when not in use. Maintain clear paths to aisles, fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations and emergency exits.
- Performs daily safety and equipment checks.
- Displays proper use of hand tools and small power tools, pallet jack, fork truck and drum handling equipment.
- Performs ongoing quality inspections, reporting any non-conforming product to the Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater.
- Contributes to meeting KPIs by focusing efforts to achieve targets.
- Responsible for meeting production standards.
- Able to run all hosts on the machine.
- Reads and interprets work orders to understand the requirements of the project.
- Operates coating equipment under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater following SOPs.
- Completes production paperwork and data entry into SAP in an accurate and timely manner.
- Notifies Shift Supervisor/Lead Coater of any product quality or mechanical issues.
- Understands product quality to allow for effective visual inspection of semi-finished or finished product as it comes off the line.
- Performs operator maintenance/preventive maintenance as defined by the Maintenance Department and SOPs.
- Works collaboratively with coworkers across all functions.
- Follows and gives written and oral instructions/communication, and work without close supervision.
- Works in a group concept; self-motivated; able and willing to be cross-functional.
- Calculates machine parameters to enter controllers.
- Enters production and testing data into the computer.
- Assures that all tesa policies and procedures and followed and being executed.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Key elements for your role:
- Trained on (1 of) Level 3 and (1) Level 2 Converting Machine, or (2 of) Level 3, or (3 of) Level 2 Converting Machines.
- Ability to train others on specific machines and SAP.
- High school graduate or equivalent work experience with basic math and simple algebra. Computer experience preferred.
- Mechanical skills or aptitude.
- Knowledge of the metric system preferred.
- Ability to use calculator, computer and measuring tools.
- Capable of earning and maintaining a forklift license.
- Previous machine related experience and mechanical skills required; plastics industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer-controlled machines.
- Hours: any as required, including overtime.
- Must be able to work within the framework of 5S, ISO and TS requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
