The Senior Manager, Production oversees daily manufacturing operations across multiple production lines, providing leadership and direction to a team of supervisors. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets are met while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Manager partners closely with cross functional teams to optimize workflows, enhance employee development, and support strategic operational goals. They ensure consistent execution of company standards and foster a high performance culture focused on results and accountability.
Position Location Detail: This position is located at our Main Plant facility.
General Profile
  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors
  • Must have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct report
  • Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
  • Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager
  • Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment

  • Oversees daily operations of one or more assigned production or manufacturing areas.
  • Ensures that output of assigned area(s) meets established schedules or quality goals.
  • Manages a team that is responsible for operating production or manufacturing machinery, assembling items, performing quality control, or packaging goods for shipment.
  • Ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Collaborates with R&D, product development/engineering, facilities management or maintenance, customer service, or other functions to ensure that organizational goals regarding safety, efficiency, quality, and profitability are met.

      • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

      • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Manufacturing, Business, Supply Chain or Engineering preferred
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Management skills. Problem/situation analysis. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Analytical thinking skills. Judgement.

      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.

      No or very little travel likely.
