Job description

About Rivian
Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what's possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
Rivian is looking for a Senior Digital Manufacturing Process Engineer to architect the "Gold Standard" for Virtual Builds & Digital Manufacturing across Rivian's automotive footprint. This role manages the integrity of the digital thread, ensuring simulations in the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE environment accurately reflect physical manufacturing realities.
Responsibilities
  • Standardization & Foundation: Develop a standardized "Virtual Build" playbook
for data consistency and process repeatability across all shops. Serve as the
liaison between business and technical requirements.
  • Virtual Build & Digital Methods: Define core data structures, templates, and
process libraries within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Consolidate manufacturing
toolsets into a single source of truth for a digital twin solution.
  • Technical Solutioning & Enterprise Integration: Translate high-level business
requirements into detailed technical specifications for PLM, ERP, and MES
integration. Ensure the 3DEXPERIENCE environment scales and conduct audits
    for global standard adherence.
  • Virtual Release & Seamless Integration: Design and implement "shift-left"
strategies to optimize parallel workflow development, reducing lead times for key
    processes within manufacturing.
  • Tool Deployment & Process Governance: Establish and monitor KPIs to enforce
adherence to standardized virtual build protocols. Act as the primary subject
matter expert for user training and tool adoption.
  • XR/VR Standardization: Define enterprise-wide standards for XR/VR immersive
reviews. Utilize VR for human-factor evaluations to vet assembly processes for
safety and ergonomics before physical prototyping

Qualifications
  • Deep knowledge of the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including Delmia Process Planning, Robotics, Virtual Commissioning, and Ergonomics.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive-specific manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to map business problems to specific features or customizations within
    the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  • Expertise: Deep technical proficiency in Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE Platform (Delmia, CATIA, & Enovia).
  • Experience: 5+ years in Automotive Manufacturing with a heavy focus on Virtual Manufacturing.
  • Systems Thinking: Proven ability to design workflows that connect shop floor realities with data requirements for simulations.
  • Education: B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
