Bloomberg Media is seeking a seasoned producer to work on its flagship daily podcast, The Big Take. In this 7 month contractor role, you'll help shape the Big Take podcast franchise. Published six days a week, the show focuses on international business and financial news. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced news environment, possesses exceptional editorial judgement and has a proven track-record in audio production and mentorship. You will collaborate with a large, global team of producers, reporters, and editors across Bloomberg's newsroom, working under the guidance of the Executive Producer.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee factual accuracy, journalistic integrity, and the narrative structure of The Big Take episodes.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer and hosts on critical decisions regarding journalism, ethics, and storytelling.
  • Line-edit episodes and make final calls on all journalistic and audio elements.
  • Regularly pitch and develop episodes with producers, Bloomberg reporters, and show leadership.
  • Mentor and train show producers on journalistic and "writing-for-audio" best practices.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of editing experience, with 8+ years in journalism.
  • Exceptional news judgment and a sharp editorial ear
  • Prior audio experience in a newsroom or a similar environment required
  • Thoughtful and flexible in decision-making
  • A strong desire to work collaboratively and mentor others

Salary Range = 72 - 80 USD Hourly
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
